Visual Arts exhibition at Secret Studio, Columbus Ohio.

On view are: “get in”, “on their shoulders”, “the Linnaeus series” and “the ransom series”.

“get in” is an installation featuring the poem with the same name, hand stitched into an antique Swedish bedsheet used as a canopy. The sheets are embroidered in white by women ahead of a marriage, for example. These time consuming pieces of art are often donated to the local thrift stores, and it was from these finds the idea for “get in” took shape, a way to celebrate the countless hours of female artistry, and adding her own chapter to it.
